Nick Ainsworth is a freelance sound designer, re-recording mixer, and music mixer with 15 years of experience and three Emmy nominations. Born and raised in Northern California, he is currently based in Los Angeles. Nick attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he studied film and electronic music. After completing his studies, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an internship with filmmaker Wolfgang Petersen's production company. Nick's passion for sound and music led him to become the sound designer for JibJab, where he created the soundscapes for the StoryBots brand and multiple Emmy-winning Netflix series. He has worked on projects ranging from Oscar-nominated films and official Sundance selections to designing user-interface sounds for Duolingo. As a Dolby Atmos certified professional, Nick has mixed hundreds of songs for major record labels and specializes in crafting immersive sound experiences for film, television, commercials, music, and technology.
